Glad Farms

True Type For All Disciplines

Nestled in the rolling hills of southwest Wisconsin, GLAD Farms is raising, training and competing with Morgan horses.

The Coulee Region is not unlike the topography and climate of Vermont, from which the Morgan breed sprung; and we adhere to the Original Type where you can see, as well as touch, Morgans that still retain close to twenty-five percent of pure Justin Morgan blood.

Our Morgans are solid, dependable horses and our whole family has enjoyed them over the years. Some of our Morgans are pure Lippitt. Read more about Lippitt Morgans here.

We breed from the ground up, producing healthy, sound and intelligent individual, resulting in Morgans with true type that can compete in all disciplines.

About Adrienne & Larry Gage

Adrienne fell in love with horses as a child and had her first riding lesson at the age of 8 years old. Being an Army brat and moving every few years did not lend itself to horse ownership, but she took advantage of every chance she had to ride. Finally, in 1998, her dream of living on a farm and having horses came to fruition when GLAD Farms was born. She learned to train horses from Tracy Porter (a John Lyons certified trainer) and learned to ride hunter/jumper from grand prix rider and trainer, Amy Hunter. Much of her dressage education has come from Kathy Dunn of Dunn Dressage.

As a breeder, Adrienne enjoys showing her Morgans. As a rider, she enjoys competing in hunter/jumper at shows around the state. She is an enthusiastic sponsor of the Kickapoo Pony Club, and a member of USPC. As a WIHA District Coach, she formed Equestrian teams in three local school districts, and as a Team Coach, took one of the teams to the 2011 State Championships. Adrienne is a Certified AAHS Instructor. She attended Wisconsin State Horse Council’s Judges Seminar and passed the written test (currently working toward certification).

Larry grew up in rural Iowa and except for an occasional ride on an old farm horse, he decided he liked his horses under the hood of a race car or on the back of a bass boat. Moving to the farm and having the horses around, he grew to love them as extended members of the family. When he is not busy as Buildings & Grounds Manager at GLAD Farms, he enjoys driving (horses). Larry also serves the horse community at shows and clinics, but particularly enjoys his job as a director for the Wisconsin State Horse Council.
